If you have ever lived in North Carolina, you know how unpredictable the weather can be. You can experience spring, summer, and winter, all on the same day. But the past week leading up to Christmas and New Year was anything but normal, weather-wise. We experienced record high temperatures that haven’t occurred in a 100 years. Just the other day I was sunning myself on the deck, something that I haven’t done in winters past. We even went on a wonderful hike on New Year’s eve, the warm sun on our faces and a gentle breeze, clad in just jeans and a t-shirt.
So if you told me it was going to snow today, I would have laughed at you! But that’s what happened and strangely enough I may know what caused the mercury to plummet almost 30 degrees overnight. Frosty! The small winter decoration we usually put outside every winter. This month we didn’t put up any decorations. My son was sick of winter not delivering her goods (snow! The boy loves snow)! So he brought Frosty out last night. A few hours later, I was on my phone and a weather report surfaced in my feed predicting snow!
Trusty Frosty has never failed my son—every time we put Frosty out, we get snow and lots of it. In 2016, it snowed on my son’s birthday and schools were closed for a couple of days. Back in 2005 when he was born in Lowell General Hospital, a blizzard raged outside. I call him my blizzard baby because this child is obsessed with snow!
His belief in a light-up Frosty that has the power to make it snow is unshakeable. Much like my belief in other things that sort of make impossible things possible all the time.
When it started snowing I called my kids to come look at the snow. My daughter woke up and reached for her phone (she’s not obsessed with snow) and quickly figured out that it wouldn’t turn on. This happened to me a few months ago when my phone refused to charge and died on me. I held the phone between my hands and gave it Reiki and it started charging. It happened not once but twice and I was convinced it’s not a coincidence. Reiki is nothing but energy and can be used in myriad ways—something that I’m becoming aware of more and more each passing day.
So today I was convinced that Reiki can bring my daughter’s phone back to life. So I plugged it in and held it between my hands, with 100% belief that it’s going to work. Sure enough a few minutes later my daughter unplugged it and plugged it back again and it switched on!
The last couple of times I tried it on my phone, my faith in Reiki (to fix inanimate things) was shaky and it took a while for my phone to come back from the dead. So many times we place our faith in the divine but only partially. We allow doubts to surface and our faith suffers. Know that whatever you believe in with your entire heart and soul has the power to move mountains and open doors to miracles that you haven’t imagined in your wildest dreams.
If Frosty can make a kid’s dream of snow come true, imagine how much more powerful is our creator and how much more we can cocreate with the divine if we simply believe that it’s possible and don’t allow a single ounce of doubt to enter our minds and hearts.
Wishing you all a magical and miraculous 2022. Let’s create a world that we all would want our children to inherit.
